In addition to all the usual great classes, we are offering a Technical Design Workshop taught by a tech designer, Nicole Lenzen, from Calvin Klein in NYC (and an Apparel Arts alum). It is going to be very insightful (Sunday, November 22 from 10-2:30).

In my opinion, New York designer, Laura Poretzky, Abaete’s (www.abaete.com) fall/winter 2009-10 collection beautifully sums up the fashion climate of Fall/Winter. Within these pieces you can read the economic climate, guarded optimism and return to simplicity that reflects our mood. San Francisco will again becoming a fashion force to be reckoned with. Check out all the great classes and organizations below coming to San Francisco.

I am really impressed with Arts of Fashion. Check out their website at www.arts-of-fashion.org. They offer yearly symposiums in different cities in the US. This year it is in Philadelphia with fantastic classes, instructors and guest speakers. Very worth it. I have heard that they are thinking of bringing the symposium to San Francisco in 2010. Keep tabs on Arts of Fashion. Hopefully you can attend this year or next.

Check out the Center for Pattern Design. Pattern Design 2009 Conference is coming up on October 2, 3, 4 in San Francisco at the Art Institute. Lots of great speakers and classes.
